Question Time: Air pollution standards should be stricter

Health experts say we need stronger air quality standards in Australia and now is the time to do it with the Ambient air quality standards review. In Warringah, there is no regular air quality testing.
There is currently a proposed revision of air quality measures to strengthen ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide standards. Children are most vulnerable to air pollutants as are the very frail, elderly and asthmatics.
Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt agreed this is important, and his answer suggested that he was committed to better air pollution standards for improved health.
