On 25 June 2026, I was proud to announce the formation of Community Strong Australia alongside Wentworth MP Allegra Spender.
Community Strong Australia is a new political party built on the success of the community independent movement. It has been created to give more Australians, and more communities, the opportunity to have a genuine voice in shaping our nation's future.
When the people of Warringah elected me in 2019, they sent a clear message: they wanted politics done differently. They wanted integrity, evidence-based decision-making and genuine engagement with the community. They wanted an MP who would listen, represent their views and put the interests of the community ahead of party politics.
That remains my commitment today.
I was elected to represent Warringah, and that will not change. I will continue to have the freedom to vote on behalf of my community and to advocate for practical solutions on the issues that matter most — from climate action and housing affordability to cost-of-living pressures, healthcare, education and economic opportunity.
Community Strong Australia is about extending that opportunity to more Australians. It is about building on what communities across the country have already demonstrated: that when people come together around shared values and local priorities, they can achieve extraordinary things.
What Community Strong Australia stands for
Community Strong Australia represents a positive vision for Australia's future — one that is shaped by communities, grounded in integrity and driven by a belief that better politics is possible.
The party will support community-backed candidates and parliamentarians who are committed to integrity, evidence-based policy, responsible economic management, climate action and genuine engagement with the people they represent.

Our principles are simple:
- Policies developed through consultation with communities and informed by evidence, not vested interests.
- Representatives who are accountable to their communities and free to vote in accordance with the interests of those they serve.
- A clear set of values embedded in our Constitution, providing transparency and ensuring those principles remain at the heart of everything we do.
What happens next
An application has been lodged with the Australian Electoral Commission to register Community Strong Australia as a political party, with registration expected to be finalised by October 2026.
Importantly, this is only the beginning. The Constitution we have lodged has been shaped by the conversations we have had with the community, and that process of listening and engagement will continue.
This is about combining everything that makes independent politics strong, with additional tools and reach. For example, a party structure is required to run in the Senate, so we can now potentially double Warringah’s impact by supporting candidates in both houses.
