The screening will be followed by an exciting panel discussion moderated by:

Stop the Lies: How to Restore Trust in Politics Webinar
Join Zali Steggall OAM MP alongside MPs and campaigners from the UK and Wales to discuss restoring trust in politics, including bringing truth into political advertising.
Throughout the election, Zali has continued to advocate for truth in political advertising through her Ethical Political Advertising Code, a voluntary code that asks candidates, parliamentarians and special interest groups to pledge to advertising claims that are credible, accurate and substantiated.
This event will discuss international advocacy efforts to bring integrity back into politics. Speakers will include:
- Zali Steggall OAM MP, Federal Independent Member for Warringah who has introduced two private members bills “Voter Protections” and “Stop the Lies” to prohibit misleading and deceptive political advertising
- Debbie Abrahams, Labour MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth. Chair of the Work and Pensions Select Committee and former Chair of APPG on Compassionate Politics.
- Dr Roz Savage, Liberal Democrat MP for South Cotswolds, was elected to the UK Parliament in 2024 after a career as an English ocean rower, environmental advocate, writer, and speaker.
- Adam Price MS, the Welsh politician and former leader of Plaid Cymru who has introduced legislation to disqualify politicians who lie from office.
- Alex Tait, from Reform Political Advertising which seeks to regulate fact-based claims in electoral advertising
- Jennifer Nadel, CEO of Compassion in Politics who led the campaign for a law to criminalise political deception in the UK and who are shortly launching in Australia.
Join our online event, "Stop the Lies" to hear from the MPs working to rebuild political trust.
