Volunteer Grants 2025-6 Expressions of Interest are now open.

Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 will be available to assist eligible not-for-profit community organisations that rely on volunteers.

The objectives of the Volunteer Grants are to:

• help not-for-profit community organisations to support the efforts of Australia’s volunteers
• encourage, support and increase participation in volunteering.

Examples of eligible expenditure include:

• the purchase of communication or insurance items to help their volunteers;
• the funding of volunteer run activities
• the purchase of items or services for the main purpose of supporting volunteers 

Eligible not-for-profit community organisations are invited to read the Grant Opportunity Guidelines and then complete and submit an Expression of Interest Form  by 5pm, Monday 30th March 2026.

Successful nominees will be invited to lodge an application with the Department of Social Services from 18 May to 29 May 2026. Successful applicants will be notified in October 2026.
