Re: Presidential pardon for Julian Assange

Dear Prime Minister,

I am writing to you to affirm the rights for journalists by calling on President Biden to grant Julian Assange a pardon before he leaves office.

A number of my constituents have contacted me concerned that Mr Assange was compelled to plead guilty to violating the US Espionage Act. They fear that governments the world over
could use the precedent to prosecute journalists globally for doing their job by publishing truthful information. They feel collectively that a pardon for Mr Assange would play a crucial
role in safeguarding the public's right to know what is happening in the world.

I urge you to consider seeking a full presidential pardon for Julian Assange from President Biden before he leaves office.
