Zali Steggall MP submission on National Anti-Corruption Commission
14 October 2022
I commend the Attorney General for the diligent and positive work which has gone into preparing the National Anti-Corruption Commission Bill.
The Bill is includes important factors such as a strong definition of corruption and retrospective powers and I am generally satisfied that the Bill has addressed the views I raised in my earlier the Letter on 6 July 22. However, there is opportunity to strengthen the Bill further. Making public hearings the norm rather than the exception is key, and I have provided additional recommendations in my submission to the Joint Select National Anti-Corruption Commission Legislation Committee.
